Adults are kings of the playground as they revisit their childhoods on Sunday, May 1, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. for the 11^th annual “O2B a Kid Again!” “FUN’draiser event.

The evening will include a silent auction, contests, live entertainment and fun food at O2B Kids, 6680 West Newberry Rd., across from the Oaks Mall.

Attendees will have a chance to bid during the silent auction on exclusive prizes. Last year, approximately 422 items were auctioned off.

The ‘FUN’draiser, will allow adults to participate in contests such as “Just Dance,” Alachua Idol karaoke, and tricycle races. Adults will also enjoy live entertainment fun foods and adult beverages.

The grown-up ‘play date’ benefits the Alachua County Public Schools Foundation.

Over 500 attended in 2010 to benefit Alachua County’s public schools by funding classroom grants, teacher and staff recognition awards and program support.

“Last year’s event raised almost $40,000 for classroom grants and recognition programs for outstanding teachers and staff,” said Rick Mulligan, Executive Director of the Foundation. “This event is a really great and fun way to offer support for our 28,000 students and 4,000 teachers and staff members with one simple contribution.”

Tickets for the event can be pre-purchased for $30. Ticket price includes admission, food, beverages and all entertainment.  Limited tickets will be available at the door.
